SciELO | The project of regional character, it is being developed in Chile by the National Research and Development Agency (ANID). The project SciELO is FAPESP's inicitive (Foundation of Support to the Investigation of São Paulo State), and BIREME (Latin American and Caribbean Center on Health Sciences Information). Since 2002, the Project is also supported by CNPq - Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimiento Científico e Tecnológico. This project envisages the development of a common methodology for the preparation, storage, dissemination and evaluation of scientific literature in electronic format. Today there are eight countries in the network SciELO: Argentina, Brasil, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Spain, Portugal and Venezuela and sites SciELO in Public Health and Social Sciences. There are other development initiatives in five countries: Costa Rica, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, and Uruguay. Across the portal SciELO.org that integrates and provides access to the SciELO network sites, the users can realize searches in the whole SciELO collections or to level of a country especially. | |
about this site | The aim of the site is to implement an electronic virtual library, wich provides full access to a selected collection of scientific Chilean serials, to each of its numbers, as well as to the full text of the articles. The access both to the serials titles and to the articles can be realized using indexes and forms of search. The serials of the health area are linked to the LILACS and MEDLINE databases. | |
