CUSSEN, Felipe y ROBINSON, Rachel. RESTRICTIONS AND INSTRUCTIONS IN RECENT CHILEAN LITERATURE. Nueva rev. Pac. [online]. 2021, n.75, pp.1-18. ISSN 0716-6346. http://dx.doi.org/10.4067/S0719-51762021000200001.
In this article, we examine the contemporary procedural poetics in Chile as a provocative practice that challenges traditional notions of authorship and textuality. By considering the procedural poem as one that privileges the potential for the creation or imagination of new poems by the author and reader, we categorize the Chilean works within two principal groups: those of restrictions and those of instructions. On the one hand, the procedural poetry of restriction or constriction can be understood as the voluntary elimination of available determined options. That of instruction, on the other, acts as a sort of musical score or blueprint. This survey of Chilean procedural poetry illustrates that contemporary practices in Chile both contribute to the global lineage of procedural poetry at the same time that it engages with its own literary history and particular cultural context.
