Resumen

TORNELLO, Simón  y  HERNANDEZ, Juan Jesús. The Artisan Wine Making in San Juan, Argentina. RIVAR (Santiago) [online]. 2022, vol.9, n.25, pp.135-152. ISSN 0719-4994.  http://dx.doi.org/10.35588/rivar.v9i25.5420.

In the Cuyo region, of Argentina, the wine into an iconic product with respect to culture, production mode and life in rural environments. Nevertheless, the 20th-century legal provisions established a production mode and technological and infrastructural requirements that excluded a great number of social actors. The regulatory framework operated viewing only the industrial winery as a production space. It was only at the beginning of the 21st century that, the State, through the National Institute of Vitiviniculture (INV), issued a resolution acknowledging the winemaking existence and regulating the activity; first on homemade winemaking, and secondly, on the artisanal wines. Its aim was to guarantee the final product’s innocuousness. This paper analyses the productive, socioeconomic, and commercial characteristics of artisanal winemakers in the province of San Juan. The analysis of the documents is qualitative. The data, which was collected from a survey carried out to 63% of the winemakers, is processed using a quantitative work method.
