DILLA ALFONSO, Haroldo  e  CABEZAS ASTORGA, María Fernanda. CONFLICTS AND INSTITUTIONS IN THE PORT-CITY RELATIONSHIP IN ARICA (2014-2019): CITY-PORT COORDINATION BOARDS (2014-2019). Diálogo Andino [online]. 2021, n.66, pp.419-430. ISSN 0719-2681.  http://dx.doi.org/10.4067/S0719-26812021000300419.

One of the distinctions of the Chilean port systems is the existence of an institutional arrangement called City Port Coordination Councils (Consejos de Coordinación Ciudad Puerto-CCCP). They are supposed to provide a space of interaction between city and port, generating a beneficial exchange. This article analyzes the CCCP's formal design, particularly its operation in the city of Arica because it is conditioned by international treaties and cross-border relations. Finally, this article suggests the problems of the working of CCCP in Arica would increase if 1) the oceanic corridors continue advancing and 2) a "delocalization" of the port of Arica would happen.
