On-line version ISSN 0718-9303

BLANCO JIMENEZ, José. Caýda de príncipes: the Castilian Vulgata of Boccaccio’s De Casibus Virorum Illustrium. Boletín de Filología [online]. 2015, vol.50, n.1, pp.33-70. ISSN 0718-9303.

We know almost everything about the spanish translation of Giovanni Boccaccio’s De casibus virorum illustrium, from XV century, and their containg codex. But, there are not studies about the vulgata text, stablished by the Sevilla’s edition (1459), later copied in Toledo (1511) and Alcalá de Henares (1552). The variants and orders of the chapters could be result of the curator’s manipulation or by the existence of a second archetype.

Keywords : Bocaccio; Caýda de príncipes; medieval latin literatura; spanish renacentist literatura.
