Caregiving is still considered a feminine task and this impacts the current gender gap. In this sense, exploring certain issues could help to redistribute and re-signifying caregiving is valuable to a gender equity agenda. This article presents the results of a research where a sample of Argentinian male were asked about their meanings on men and women’s role in caregiving, their level of participation in early childhood care and its articulation with work life, and the impact perceived in their work as also in their partners’. The findings state that although paternity practices show more involvement, they still remain satellite to the care given by mothers. The main conclusions point to evidence that men perceive a gender inequity in the current caregiving distribution, but their practices still remain quite traditional.
