This article provides a discussion of the core objective of Psychotherapy for sexually abused children and adolescents, from a constructivist evolutive point of view. To this end, we conducted a theoretical investigation, based on the reflection that emerged from the bibliography reviewed and the results of previous research, both at the national and international levels. As a result, we discuss the concept of reparation that used by national institutions as the core objective of treatment in such cases. We suggest that this concept proposes to deal with the negative consequences of victimization. We dwell on concepts such as reconstruction of meaning and healing, which imply a process of personal growth and empowerment, while making sense of the abuse experience by integrating it into one’s personal identity in an adaptive way. In conclusion, we propose to conduct research about the significance of these concepts as perceived by sexually abused children and adolescents.
