In this article I explore how people in San Antonio, Catamarca, Argentina, interpret the historical development as from discontinuities which are not often lineal and most frequently overlap. In particular, I study how these distinctions, which from the analytic point of view I have called Indian time, Priest Vázquez’s time and present time, condense cosmological as well as ontological categories. Focusing on these ways of building past and present, the work proposes that these result from a relation between events and historical experience.
