This paper presents the design of a virtual undergraduate course of cell biology and its implementation in the Moodle platform. The degree of satisfaction by the students is also analyzed through a satisfaction questionnaire. A total of 223 students voluntarily participated in the virtual course and completed the questionnaire. This information allowed determining the perception of the students about the virtual environment. The students had a positive acceptance and appreciation for the virtual course as an important complement to the face-to-face class. Also, more active participation in the classroom was observed and better academic performance was achieved.
