Abstract

RUBINSTEIN, Iván Facundo. THE MEXICAN COMMUNICATIVE MODEL OF COVID-19: POLITICS AND SCIENCE IN TV. Perspect. comun. [online]. 2022, vol.15, n.1, pp.223-247. ISSN 0718-4867.  http://dx.doi.org/10.4067/S0718-48672022000100223.

In this article we analyze the political communication of the Mexican government in the management of the COVID-19 pandemic. We take as a starting point the daily evening conferences as a space in which the political and scientific discourses are in tension. Moreover, in these conferences the government built a narrative that seeks to gain support and legitimize the sanitary actions of the federal government, which was criticized of being limp and inefficient. We do a discursive analysis from the socio-semiotic approach, and postulate what we called the didactic model of the governmental communication.

Keywords : audiovisual communication; scientific communication; public policy; health information; semiotic; Covid-19.
