The results of a descritptive study with the objective of uprising a psychosocial profile and problems associated with the users attended at a municipal program of attention and prevention of family violence in Lo Espejo, during year 2006, are presented. Its results indicate that most of the people that live through family violence and come into the program are women, victims of physical violence (with a high percentage intimidated with weapons). They are young, home owners with low educational level. It is concluded that the deterioration and impact that generates family violence in the mental health of people, needs a specific multidimensional and interdisciplinary intervention that must be able of going beyond the social and clinical intervention boundaries
