Resumen
CANDIA FALCON, Gonzalo. REFUSING TO RENDER ADVISORY OPINIONS: REINFORCING THE SUBSIDIARY CHARACTER OF THE INTER-AMERICAN SYSTEM OF HUMAN RIGHTS PROTECTION. Rev. chil. derecho [online]. 2018, vol.45, n.1, pp.57-80. ISSN 0718-3437. http://dx.doi.org/10.4067/S0718-34372018000100057.
The author proposes that the reasons developed by the Inter-American Court of Human Rights to reject requests of advisory opinions seek to preserve the subsidiary character of the regional system of human rights. However, the article shows recent cases in which the Court has not been completely consistent with its own previous decisions on this matter.
