Abstract
WALTER, Pablo. Boron level in the waters of the Calchaquí River and its tributaries. Salta, Argentina. Idesia [online]. 2018, vol.36, n.1, pp.41-48. ISSN 0718-3429. http://dx.doi.org/10.4067/S0718-34292018000100041.
The departments of Cachi and Molinos are part of the Calchaquí valley that is located in the province of Salta, Argentina. This area is irrigated by the Calchaquí River. This river has waters all year round like the rest of its tributaries. In some of these rivers the presence of boron (B) with levels greater than 11 mg L-1 was detected. It is considered that these levels of toxicity limit the production diversification capacity and, consequently, the economic potential of the area. This work evaluates the presence of physical chemical factors, such as B, in waters destined for irrigation of the Calchaquí River and some of its tributaries.
