PIN DALVI, Leandro; PRATISSOLI, Dirceu; POLANCZYK, Ricardo Antonio  y  SANTOS ANDRADE, Gilberto. OCCURRENCE OF PARASITOID INSECTS ASSOCIATED TO THE COFFEE BERRY BORER IN THE SOUTH OF THE STATE OF ESPÍRITO SANTO-BRAZIL. Idesia [online]. 2008, vol.26, n.3, pp.97-98. ISSN 0718-3429.  http://dx.doi.org/10.4067/S0718-34292008000300011.

The objective of this work was to verify the occurrence of parasitoids insects, of the coffee berry borer, Hypothenemus hampei (Ferrari) (Coleoptera: Scolytidae) in plantings of coffee in the South of Espírito Santo State. The found parasitoids were Prorops nasuta (Hym.: Bethilidae) and Cephalonomia stephanoderis (Hym.: Bethilidae), with levels of parasitism of up to 33%. These natural enemies’ presence suggests a potential of natural regulation of H. hampei, and perspectives for its use in programs of Integrated Pest Management.

Palabras clave : Biological control; Prorops nasuta; Cephalonomia stephanoderis; Hypothenemus hampei.
