The vanguards phenomenon took place in Latin America between 1915 and 1940. It covered a wide range of socio-cultural and political aspects.  The purpose of this work is to reflect upon this phenomenon and to exhibit data on aspects hardly considered about the vanguards. Namely:  aesthetic and politics appearing in poetry and novel of the proletarian social realism.  Vicente Huidobro's Manifiestos and Pablo de Rokha's  Arenga sobre el arte and other writings, contribute with theoretical aspects which demonstrate that Latin-Americans vanguards do not correspond to a simple prolongation of European vanguards
