Today we face the ongoing challenge of adapting to the demands of a changing world. In this context, education is fundamental, especially programs for the population over 18 years old who have not completed primary/secondary school, considering negative consequences that incomplete schooling has on adults. In this context, the main objective of this article is to investigate, from a qualitative perspective, the experiences and expectations of students in the main mode of adult education existing in Chile, the regular mode. The results show that the motivations to resume schooling are associated with both practical and personal factors. In addition, among the important factors to stay within this mode are conviviality as well as the support provided by families and teachers.
