INFANTINO, Julieta. The Generational Point from an Ethnographic Approach: Young Circus Performers in Buenos Aires. Ultima décad. [online]. 2013, vol.21, n.39, pp.87-113. ISSN 0718-2236. http://dx.doi.org/10.4067/S0718-22362013000200005.
In this paper we will study the generational issue from an ethnographic approach by taking the empirical case of young circus artist protagonists of the resurgence of these arts in the city of Buenos Aires (Argentina) from the post-dictatorial years until today (1983-2013). We will analyze how by the ends of the year 2000, from modifications tending to a major legitimization of these arts, a differential experience became objective for some of the artists who had begun his practices in the 90s and a reading arose in generational key of the past. Also, we will study the relationships between old circus family tradition and new artists that did not come from this tradition and were formed by some of these references. From the case, we will examine the changeable and dynamic contents of significance of the degrees of age in link with the tradition and the social change as well as the process of social construction of the generations.
