Resumen

HOLAS, Sergio. Impurity and its effects on Pablo Neruda´s poetry and collections. Rev. signos [online]. 2005, vol.38, n.57, pp.91-100. ISSN 0718-0934.  http://dx.doi.org/10.4067/S0718-09342005000100007.

This paper advances a reading of Pablo Neruda’s poetry and collections based on the concept of ‘impurity’ . The main thesis of this work is that the idea of ‘impurity’ rises from the effect of proximity between subject and object. This proximity modifies the purity of form due to the coupling between subject and object. Consequently, both the poet and the collector are led in their tasks by the corporeal/incorporeal transformations which this proximity effects upon the body of the objects as well as on subjectivity. Impurity, therefore, plays an important role in both Nerudian poetics and collections

Palabras clave : impurity; subjectivity.
