This article aims to reveal the configuration of Valparaíso as space of adventure in the novel Piel nocturna (1936) by S. Reyes, stressing the proposal of an urban local imaginary that dissociates imaginismo from its oppositional dependence on Criollismo which had normally been assumed by critics. Gathering the reflections of Simmel and Katchandjian in relation to the experience of adventure and the proposal of Michel Foucault on other spaces, we review the emplacements linked to each other by a voyage that reveals them as the formative elements of an imaginary of Valparaíso that was becoming accepted after the crisis of the oligarchic modernization project.
