Resumen
URREJOLA, Bernarda. "Carísimo padre mío y toda mi estimación en nuestro Señor": obstinación y afecto por el confesor en el epistolario de Josefa de los Dolores Peñailillo (Chile, s. XVIII). Atenea (Concepc.) [online]. 2006, n.494, pp.67-82. ISSN 0718-0462. http://dx.doi.org/10.4067/S0718-04622006000200005.
The unpublished letters that Sister Josefa de los Dolores Peñailillo, a Chilean Dominican nun from the XVIIIth Century, addressed to her father confessor, the Jesuit Manuel Alvarez, are housed in the Archive of the Dominican Monastery of Santa Rosa of Lima in Santiago, Chile. These letters show the remarkable relationship between the nun and the father confessor. The physical distance, the prohibition of being officially guided by the Father that Sister Josefa had chosen, as well as the dispositions that in 1767 would mark the expulsion of the Company of Jesus, determine the special tenor of the missives in which we can see abundant expressions of affection towards the priest who Dolores considered the only refuge of her soul
Palabras clave : Nuns' literature; colonial period; nun and father confessor relationship.
