Teaching or research material is an important part of the work for health professionals. Effectiveness of an oral presentation depends on the ability of the speaker to communicate with the audience. Some individuals are born with the skills of an effective public speaker. Most of us need to learn these skills and must be continually improving them. PowerPoint software is an useful tool to develop presentations but is necessary to follow some rules or guides to obtain better results. This article will be focused in work to improve communication with the audience following some general principles and providing tips to develop effective slides by using PowerPoint
