Resumen

OMAR, Alicia. The Attitudinal Aspects on Personality Diagnosis: II. Empirical verification of the S.D. discriminative power. Rev. chil. neuro-psiquiatr. [online]. 2002, vol.40, n.3, pp.238-242. ISSN 0717-9227.  http://dx.doi.org/10.4067/S0717-92272002000300005.

Objective. To predict the typological characteristics of personality from affective reactions evoked by certain concepts such as "me", "work" and "life". Method. A short version of the Semantic Differential (S.D.) technique (integrated by 3 concepts and 10 bipolar scales), and the Eysenck Personality Questionnaire (EPQ), were applied to a new sample of 110 young adults. Results. The most favourable estimates were shown by subjects belonging to controlled typological subgroups, and the most unfavourable ones by neurotics subjects. Those scales representing potentia and activity of the semantic space evoked the most favourable reactions on the controlled-extroverts (EC) and the most unfavourable ones in the controlled-introvert (IC). The concept "me" has proved to have the most discriminative typologically-based sensibility. Conclussions. The special connotative-affective estimates evoked by the concepts "me", "work" and "life" would support the integration of attitudinal aspects to personality typological diagnosis

Palabras clave : attitudinal responses; personality structure; typological diagnosis.
