MUNOZ S, Hernán et al. Consenso Latinoamericano sobre Resonancia Magnética Fetal. Rev. chil. obstet. ginecol. [online]. 2013, vol.78, n.2, pp.139-141. ISSN 0717-7526. http://dx.doi.org/10.4067/S0717-75262013000200012.
Ultrasound is the method of primary study of fetal malformations. However, there are special conditions and limitations that make magnetic resonance the useful method in these circumstances, providing a highly detailed of fetal anatomy and pathology. It's a technique that does not use ionizing radiation, provides high contrast images and get good quality images of most fetal organs. It can also provide useful information of placenta, umbilical cord, amniotic fluid and uterus. The use of this technique, his development and progress, and future projections, will be presented in this document, made at the Meeting of the Latin American Consensus on Magnetic Resonance in Obstetrics, held on 14 and 15 July 2012 in Santiago, Chile.
