The objective of this work was evaluate on the patients that the Citopatólogo give us HPV persistent (Without associate, NIE), the percentage of injuries that present some histological anomaly of greater spread in the evolution of the Ca CU. A prospective study develop in patients on the Health Service of Valparaiso - San Antonio, who was derived to the Patological Cervical Unit (UPC), between the years 1995 and 2001, who showed PAP with persistent HPV, this allowed to separate those patients to which HPV infection returns without medical therapy. At the enter of the unit was designed a card of pursuit, similar to the cases that displayed NIE, was make a colposcopical and histological evaluation when it corresponded, making controls every 4 months by a minimum period of 2 years. The results show the importance of stud those patients with persistent HPV, because a 40% of NIE II-III and 2% of cancer CU were detected
