A increasing offering of nutritional supplements has been observed in the market as well as available information. However only few studies about this theme had an adequate methodology. The nutritional supplements, specifically vitamins are commonly used in the pediatric offices often with no justification. The aim of this article is to give a general vision of the indications for the use of nutritional supplements in pediatrics in the two more critical ages: infancy and adolescence and in two special conditions; the sports and the vegetarianism
