LEAL, Elson  and  OYARZUN, Ciro. FISHERY-BIOLOGICAL PARAMETERS FOR THE PACIFIC POMFRET BRAMA AUSTRALIS VALENCIENNES 1837 IN LEBU  (37°37'S-73°40'W ) FISHERY AREA, CHILE. Gayana (Concepc.) [online]. 2002, vol.66, n.2, pp.231-235. ISSN 0717-652X.  http://dx.doi.org/10.4067/S0717-65382002000200020.

Length at first maturity (TMP) of the female of Brama australis) in 36,9 cm is estimated, an increase of the reproductive activity in the months of july and august it is established, the total (Z), natural (M) and fishing (F) mortality rates was in values of 1,13; 053 and 0,60 year-1 respectively. Other parameters like length-weight relationship (RLP), and Critical age (t#) of the resource are also considered. A total of 1061 individuals captured in the coastal zone of Lebu (37°37' S - 73°;40'W), Chile, between January and September 2001, were analyzed. The TPM and t# are being protected by the operation regime of the fishing fleet, showing an acceptable situation of fishing in the studied area. However, an complete evaluation of the stock is proposed
