Resumen
MUNOZ-HIDALGO, Mariano. Bolero y modernismo: la canción como literatura popular. Lit. lingüíst. [online]. 2007, n.18, pp.101-120. ISSN 0716-5811. http://dx.doi.org/10.4067/S0716-58112007000100005.
This article proposes an analysis of the bolero from the perspective of popular culture considered as a social phenomenon of sociological magnitude and artistic importance simultaneously. We suggest a complementation of discourse and attitude between literature and popular culture, illustrated by the influence of modernist poetry in the texts of boleros, in a similar manner as the Mester de Juglaría (Art of the Minstrels, 12th to 14th century) can be related to the development of the Provençal Trova (troubadour poetry) in the language of Oc. The article quotes numerous texts of boleros that are considered "classic" in its genre, reconstructing in part the discourse of popular culture in relation with the collective imagery of love. As a final consideration, it analyses certain cultural derivations of the boleristic imagery to conform some identitary contents of our Latin American culture.
