This work analyses the reception of the roman model of locatio conductio in the regulation of the so-called “lease of services” contained in the Spanish Civil Code of 1889. To this end, the paper studies the inmediate sources of that regulation: the Spanish Law before codification, the French Civil code of 1804, and the projects of codification during the XIX century.
