The present reflection regarding "the faultless abandoned spouse: some clues toward a solution", endeavors to offer some criteria for the analysis of a situation that calls out not only for justice, but also Christian understanding. This reflection is developed in three moments: the posing of the problem, the proposal of a few "analogies" that can aid the search for a solution and the suggestion of an attitude to assume in facing said situation. The presuppositions for founding a new posture of the Church regarding the conflictive situation of a spouse innocently abandoned is, in good measure, already posed by the pastoral and theological reflection of Vatican Council II: the centrality of the human person, highlighting the ethical conscience and the sense of responsibility
