Abstract
MEIS, Anneliese. La cuestión hermenéutica y la interpretación del dogma a trasluz del Itinerarium mentis de Buenaventura. Teol. vida [online]. 2005, vol.46, n.1-2, pp.139-166. ISSN 0049-3449. http://dx.doi.org/10.4067/S0049-34492005000100007.
The article discusses the issue of hermeneutics in the Journey of the Mind to God by Saint Bonaventure, defying recent hermeneutic questioning. The most outstanding aspect addressed is the concern of the thinking subject, placed in a complex world, which the author understands fully. Bonaventure considers this basic hermeneutic attitude in the light of Revelation, mediated by metaphysical influences and evoked by constant references to Dionysius and Augustine, according to the modern articulation of Journey. To accomplish such a task, the following suitable hermeneutic questions need to be asked: How does the main event of God's revelation in Jesus Christ take place within the scheme of journey, and how does this relate to the work it self? What is the role of profane scientific and philosophical knowledge, in Bonaventure's argumentation? Is there a genuine and significant interpretation of dogma for the existence of man in the world?
