Resumen
STECHER, Antonio. Fairclough and language in New Capitalism: Analysis of the discursive dimensions of the world of labor. Psicoperspectivas [online]. 2014, vol.13, n.3, pp.19-29. ISSN 0718-6924. http://dx.doi.org/10.5027/psicoperspectivas-Vol13-Issue3-fulltext-526.
The article presents and discusses the conceptual framework and the research logic of the Critical Analysis of Discourse (CAD), developed by Norman Fairclough. We highlight the most recent developments of such model, based on the notion of a dual dialectic discourse. We discuss the way in which such theoretical-methodological perspective allows the conceptualization and analysis of discursive dimensions of the productive restructuring processes, management up-dating processes and the degree of leeway in labor contracts that are characteristic of flexible neo-capitalism and pro-gressive liberalism. We signal the contribution of such conceptual and analytical framework to the emerging field of Labor Studies in Latin America. We also raise the level of the critical potential that ACD has for making the importance of discourse visible in maintaing, contesting and transforming power relationships in contempo-rary societies.
