Scope and policy

The Journal of Educational Studies and Experiences (REXE) publishes original works as a product of research results aimed at enriching scientific understanding in the field of knowledge and pedagogical work. With the same purpose, it publishes original works such as studies, debates and experiences.

REXE has an Editorial Committee made up of: a) The Editorial Council, made up of a group of national and international academics with a long history and scientific productivity, responsible for ensuring that the objectives of the journal, its editorial policy and the rules for the publication and review of articles are met. It establishes the policies that add value to the journal, proposes authors and themes for the following issues, as well as the structure of each publication. b) Editorial Board, made up of a group of academics belonging to the journal's publishing institution, responsible of supervising the publication regulations in the articles received, suggesting modifications so that they conform to them and taking decisions on sending a third arbitrator when a certain article does not require agreement between the two arbitrators, and by a c) Scientific Evaluating Committee for each issue, integrated by a community of experts in the different topics published by the journal, whose function is to act as referees to each article that applies to be published in a specific issue of the journal according to a pre-established guideline for each category of articles (research, debate and pedagogical experiences).

REXE organizes its sections according to the accepted articles. The Research section publishes original research works that have methodologies according to their research problems and that generate knowledge as a result of them. The Studies and Debates section publishes unpublished works in which studies or debates on educational problems, theoretical positions, pedagogical approaches, etc. are presented, strongly argued, in order to deepen reflection and criticism on possible explanations or proposals for such problems. And the section of Pedagogical Experiences collects articles that systematize pedagogical experiences in which their innovative action is evidenced, either at a theoretical or practical level.

Refereeing System: each article received by REXE for eventual publication will be submitted to the double blind system, that is, neither the referees nor the authors will know the names, in order to evaluate articles and not individuals. The system involves sending the article to external referees who are experts in the subject in question.

With respect to the results of the evaluations:

The answers of the evaluators can be: Full Acceptance, Acceptance with minor modifications, Acceptance with major modifications, Total Rejection of the article.

If the evaluation of the two referees is of total rejection, the article will not be able to continue with the editorial processes of the journal and the author will be informed by e-mail, attaching the evaluation guidelines. If a referee completely rejects the article and the second accepts it with major modifications, the work will not continue with the editorial processes of the journal.

If a referee accepts the work as a whole or with minor modifications and the second referee totally rejects the article, the article should be sent to a third referee.

If the work is accepted as a whole, with minor modifications or major modifications, the evaluations are sent to the author to carry out the modifications (with a double-blind system). If the modifications are minor, the authors will have 15 working days to correct and if they are not major modifications, the authors will have 30 working days to incorporate the requested changes.

When the authors must make corrections, these must be accompanied by a letter explaining the modifications made, the document will be called "Corrections Report".
