ABOUT THE JOURNAL
Focus and Scope
Psykhe is a psychology journal that has been published continuously biannually (May and November) since 1992.
Psykhe publishes—in Spanish or English—research articles, short reports, reviews, and methodological developments, in all areas of psychology. It emphasizes evidence-based research—focusing on emerging themes and ongoing debates—with social implications for the Iberoamerican context. Consequently, since 2010 Psykhe publishes special sections that cover different areas and topics of psychological science.
International diversity is a central feature of PSYKHE, publishing original research conducted mainly in Iberoamerican countries that informs international psychological literature.
Since 2014, Psykhe is published online only. All previous volumes are also available for download in the website, with open access system.
Peer Review Process
Psykhe follows a strict peer review process and adheres to APA guidelines for publication and ethical research.
The Editorial Board discusses all submitted manuscripts. If a paper is well suited to undergo the peer review process, the Editorial Board sends it to two or more external referees for extended review, or on the contrary, the paper is declined on initial editorial review. In the review process, both authors and reviewers identities are kept confidential, following a double-blind policy. The Editorial Board, based on the reviews of the external referees, decides on whether to accept, reject or suggest to revise and resubmit the manuscript. The decision is communicated to the authors usually within 90 days.
Psykhe edits two issues per year, and the publication months are May and November.
Open Access Policy
This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
Psykhe is an open access journal that that does not charge for reading nor for publishing.
