The journal has three sections: articles, documents and reviews.

Form and preparation of manuscripts

Manuscripts submitted for the Articles section must be the product of any original scientific research in progress or completed, that deals with issues relating to Criminal Science and Criminology.

Articles that are the “product of an investigation” are those that partially or completely develop the author's arguments, in an intelligible form and using current and relevant literature. When articles are the product of research projects funded with public or private funds, or wholly or partially are part of a Masters or Ph.D. research, it is recommended to notify it in the first footnote.

"Original" articles mean texts that have been previously published as "articles" or in the same language presented for publication, at the time of its submission to Editorial Committee. Therefore, sections of monographs, the first translation into Spanish of articles published in another language, and articles that the author has submitted to other journals or for their inclusion in collective books and monographs that have not been published when undergoing the evaluation process by the Peer Review Committee are considered original for these purposes.

Authors can submit their articles in Spanish, German, French, Italian or Portuguese. The format of the text should be simple, to reflect the editorial guidelines. The manuscripts will undergo an evaluation process by the Peer Review Committee members or by external evaluators appointed by the Editorial Committee, who will report whether the text may or may not be published, with or without amendments, in compliance with the editorial guidelines.

The evaluation process is conducted by the Director and Editor of the Journal, who shall maintain a record of the process and inform the author of its results. However, the identity of the evaluators will not be revealed.

Texts can also be sent and proposed for publication in the Documents section. In this cases, an explanation of the text’s relevance should be attached.

Reviews may be submitted to the Director only for texts whose review submission does not exceed five years since their original publication.

All manuscripts will be presented in normal typeface Times New Roman size 12, fully justified, single spaced, no indentation. The minimum size of each submitted text to the Articles section will be 25,000 characters, including blank spaces.
