International Journal of Agriculture and Natural Resources quarterly publishes original research articles and topical reviews in the areas of agricultural, forestry and environmental sciences in English. The journal accepts original and unpublished contributions from authors from other universities, institutes or research institutions. International Journal of Agriculture and Natural Resources does not provide reprints of published articles.

Printed and electronic versions are published during the last part of April, August and December of each year. All of the articles published in International Journal of Agriculture and Natural Resources are available at www.ijanr.cl. On this site, previously unpublished articles are also presented.

International Journal of Agriculture and Natural Resources publishes original Research Articles, Research Notes, Essays and Literature Reviews. All submissions are evaluated by a committee of experts that includes at least two reviewers appointed by the Editorial Committee. However, the editors of International Journal of Agriculture and Natural Resources reserve the right to accept or reject a submission.

The cost of publication for articles submitted to the journal from the beginning of September 2016 onward will be USD $ 40 per page (MS Word file of submitted document, excluding pages of figures and tables), with a maximum of 6,000 words for research papers and notes and a maximum of 12,000 words for review papers and essays. International Journal of Agriculture and Natural Resources does not offer reprints of published articles.

All manuscripts must be prepared in accordance with the journal guideline, which are consistent with those described by the American Society of Agronomy (https://www.agronomy.org/publications/style/). The pages and lines must be numbered. Tables and figures should be included on separate pages and at the end of the manuscript or in different files. For information on the style and format of tables and figures, please observe the formatting used in a recent issue of International Journal of Agriculture and Natural Resources, available at www.ijanr.cl.

Title: To facilitate manuscript indexing, each article should include a short title that summarizes its content. The title should be centered on the manuscript's first page and use a combination of upper- and lowercase letters. For examples of appropriate styles, refer to the latest issue of the journal, www.ijanr.cl.

Authors and affiliation: The authors and co-authors should include their first names, second name initials and last names, followed by their institution(s) and mailing address. When there are two or more authors from the same institution, use superscripts (numbers only) to indicate each author's affiliation. The corresponding author should be indicated in a footnote.

Abstract: Provide the names of the author and co-authors at the beginning of the summary, followed by the year, the article title and the abbreviated name of the journal (Agr. Sci. Res.). All Abstracts must represent a condensed version of the manuscript, with a maximum of 250 words. The Abstract must include a brief introduction, an explanation of the research objectives, a description of the methods, the significance of the results and conclusions.

Keywords: Include fewer than seven keywords not mentioned in the title.

References: The References should be arranged according to author name and in alphabetical order. The first author should be listed by last name, followed by the author's initials. Beginning with the second author, the initials of the first names are provided first, followed by the last names. Next, the year and title of the publication should be provided. The contents of each reference depend on publication type. For examples, please consider recent issues of International Journal of Agriculture and Natural Resources, www.ijanr.cl.

All references must be cited in the document body with the author name(s) followed by the year of publication, from the oldest to the most recent reference (e.g., Caceres, 1999; Del Pozo and Engler, 2011). For references with more than three authors, provide the first author followed by "et at." in italics and the year of publication (e.g., Caceres etal., 2001).

Length: The maximum length of Research Articles should be 20 pages (including a maximum of four tables and/or four figures). The maximum length of a Research Note is 12 pages. Essays and Literature Reviews can include up to 40 pages. All submissions must be double¬spaced using 11-point Arial font or 12-point Times New Roman font.

Manuscript submission (Submission): All manuscripts should be submitted electronically via the journal's online platform, www.ijanr.cl.

RESEARCH ARTICLES

Research Articles consist of original writing in which the results of laboratory, greenhouse and field research are communicated. The presentation should enable a full assessment of the observations made, the method used, the data testing process and, in particular, whether the data obtained justify and support the conclusions reached. The objectives should be clearly specified in the last paragraph of the introduction. The experimental design and statistical analysis should preferably be explained as a final subchapter in the Materials and Methods section.

Research Articles should be a maximum of 20 pages (including Tables and Figures, in number not exceeding four, respectively), letter size, written in double space and in Arial 11 or Times New Roman 12. The pages and lines should be numbered, and the Tables and Figures should be included on separate sheets at the end of the manuscript (for submission of Tables and Figures, take as a reference those included in the recent volumes of the journal: www.ijanr.cl.

The manuscripts should be prepared in accordance with the standards of the journal (www.ijanr.cl), which are based on the guidelines of the American Society of Agronomy (https://www.agronomy.org/publications/style/) and submitted using the platform available at www.ijanr.cl.

The main sections that a research article must include are as follows: Article title: Centered using a combination of upper- and lowercase letters and a standard font.

Author(s): First name (provide only the first author's first name; use initials for the first names of the co-authors), last name, institution and address (centered using a combination of upper- and lowercase letters).

Where there are two or more author institutions, use superscripts (numbers only) to indicate the affiliations.

In a footnote, indicate the corresponding author (i.e., provide the name and the email address of the author to whom correspondence should be addressed).

Abstract: In English, centered and fewer than 250 words. Provide the name of the author(s) and the article's title in English, followed by Int. J. Agric. Nat. Resour. and then the abstract. Below the abstract, provide a maximum of seven keywords in addition to those included in the title, in alphabetical order. For an example of how the abstract should be structured, please consult a recent issue of the journal: www.ijanr.cl.

Introduction: Fewer than two pages, in which the research problem should be stated, the state of the relevant literature described and, in the final paragraph, the specific objectives of the research article presented.

Materials and Methods: This section should provide all of the relevant methodological details, the techniques used and the statistical approach and analysis (e.g., analysis of variance). The statistical analysis and design should be described, preferably in the final subsection. The description of the statistical design must clearly indicate the randomization process used, the number of replications and the experimental units. The level of each experimental factor must be accurately explained (e.g., randomized block design, factorial design). Provide all the information necessary to assess the relevance and the replicability of the results. Field tests should be repeated in more than one season and location.

Results (Results and Discussion): Include the results that correspond to each of the topics described in the Materials and Methods. The results must be presented in tables and figures (on separate pages) and correctly supported by statistical analyses as necessary, indicating the variability and the level of significance (e.g., P<0.05). Do not present results in Tables and Figures simultaneously. Results provided without a design and statistical analysis in line with the objectives of the experiments are not publishable.

Discussion: In this chapter, a clear statement of the research achievements should be provided, including a comparison of the results with those of the scientific studies cited in the article. The final paragraph of the discussion should include the conclusions (avoid presenting the conclusions as an additional section). Only state conclusions that are adequately supported by the results and the statistical analysis and that are directly related to the specific objectives of the research.

Acknowledgements: Specific reference should be made to funding sources and the individuals and institutions that contributed to the research.

Summary: Include a summary in Spanish with the same content as the abstract, in fewer than 250 words. Below this summary, provide up to seven keywords in alphabetical order (corresponding to the keywords that follow the English abstract). For an example of the summary structure, please consult a recent issue of the journal: www.ijanr.cl.

References: Ordered alphabetically according to the last name of the first author. For an example, please consult a recent issue of the journal: www.ijanr.cl.

Avoid references to web pages and theses.

RESEARCH NOTES

A Research Note describes synthetically the results of a full investigation. For this journal, a Research Note does not correspond to preliminary results of research articles.

The research note should be a maximum of 12 letter-sized pages (including tables and figures; in total, fewer than four), double-spaced and using 11-point Arlal font or 12-point Times New Roman font. The pages and lines should be numbered, and the tables and figures should be included on separate pages at the end of the manuscript. We recommend using the same structure proposed for Research Articles (described above), with fewer than 10 citations.

Research Notes must be submitted using the platform available at www.ijanr.cl.

LITERATURE REVIEWS

A Literature Review corresponds to a comprehensive and critical review of the scientific literature on a specific topic, in which the author discusses the most recently published research. It is expected that at least one of the authors has a substantial research record on the topic. The presentation must be objective, clear and precise to facilitate a quick understanding of the state of the research on a given subject. Literature Reviews should encompass at least 100 original scientific articles published in mainstream journals, preferably during the last five years.

The extent of a Literature Review should be a maximum of 40 letter¬sized pages (including tables and figures, in number fewer than four, respectively), double-spaced and using 11-point Arial font or 12-point Times New Roman font. The pages and lines must be numbered, and the tables and figures should be included on separate pages at the end of the manuscript.
Literature Reviews must be submitted using the platform available at www.ijanr.cl.

ESSAYS

International Journal of Agriculture and Natural Resources publishes essays on topics within the scope of the journal. An essay is an article in which the authors develop and defend a thesis based on their opinions in accordance with the literature and relevant research that the authors have previously performed. Therefore, it is preferable that the authors of an essay have previously published scientific articles.
