Dear colleagues:

Our Journal is beginning a new journey. I would like to thank to the Chilean Chemical Society in the person of the newly elected President Dr. Patricio Reyes, for the opportunity to contribute to the improvement of this Journal by asking me to be the new Editor. I have accepted this challenge with the motivation of my always enthusiastic collaboration with the Journal and because I am convinced that it may become a Journal of increasing quality, up to the level of those with high impact factor.

I want to thank to all of those colleagues that in many ways showed their approval and congratulations after they new my designation.

In this new task that I begin, I ask the entire community of chemists to join and support us in order to set Journal of the Chilean Chemical Society in the place that it deserves in accordance with our scientific activities.

Finally, I also want to thank to Dr. Julio Belmar from the University of Concepcion, recently designated Associated editor, for accepting this challenge too, so we can together contribute to make our Journal a better one
