It's been a while since we have published an issue dedicated to houses, which are by far the most designed and built, be they urban or rural, large or small. We decided to create a special issue with 18 homes with half in Latin America and the other half in Chile. Among the projects abroad we selected three in Brazil, three in Argentina, one in Paraguay, one in Peru, one in Ecuador and one in Spain. Among the Chilean houses there are four in the eastern zone of Santiago, three located on the central coast and one on the periphery of the city of Rancagua.
We chose houses of varied size; from up to 500 m2, as in the Estancia LA by Solano Benítez in Paraguay, to as little as 36 m2 in the Boxe house by Alan Chu and Cristiano Kato in front of the sea in Brazil.
To compare them, the beginning of each selection contains two pages with the plans at 1: 500 scale to visualize how the interior spaces are distributed and to understand what is 500 m2 or 36 m2.
