This study aims to determine change in the properties of cement mortar with addition of PE to the mixture at a rate of 0,2%, 0,5% and 0,8% by weight of cement, for to make a sustainable material. It was realized analysis of bending and compressive strength, permeability to chloride penetration, carbonation and capillary absorption. It was obtained lower resistance to bending and compressive strength, although less pronounced for the 0,5% addition, while on the other side a reduce of chloride penetration, carbonation and a decrease in the amount of water absorbed
