PAVON, E; ETXEBERRIA, M y MARTINEZ, I. Properties of recycled aggregates concrete using active and inert addictions. Revista de la Construcción [online]. 2011, vol.10, n.3, pp. 4-15. ISSN 0718-915X. doi: 10.4067/S0718-915X2011000300002.
The research work presented in this paper describes the physical, mechanical and durability properties of concrete made with 25% and 100% of recycled coarse aggregates using active and inert additions. The experimental phase was carried by two stages: in stage 1, physical- mechanical properties (compressive strength and ultrasonic pulse velocity) were determined; in stage 2, the resistance to chloride ion penetration, resistivity, absorption and porosity were analysed. The obtained results of recycled aggregate concrete were compared to those of conventional concrete. The results show that the physical and mechanical properties of recycled aggregate concrete were lower than conventional concrete. However, the recycled aggregate concrete made with active additions improved the durability of conventional concrete.
