This article presents the results of the chromatic study conducted on archaeological textiles from northern Chile belonging to the collection of the Museo Chileno de Arte Precolombino. The study focused on the analysis of the visual- tactile configuration of the textiles, considering perceptual factors related to the use of color in the representational space. As such, one of its aims was to identify the chromatic codes that define this textile universe, building a 204- shade colour chart from a colorimetric study. The analysis presented herein has focused on a selection of inkuñas from the Late Intermediate Period of Arica.
Keywords : Arica pre- Columbian textiles; colour; chromatic range; inkuñas.
