Resumen
DE LOS RIOS-ESCALANTE, Patricio y SOBENES, Catterina. A size sharing null model for Zooplanctonic Crustacean community from Patagonian lakes (47-53°S, Chile). Anales Instituto Patagonia (Chile) [online]. 2012, vol.40, n.1, pp. 119-124. ISSN 0718-686X. doi: 10.4067/S0718-686X2012000100016.
The zooplankton assemblages in Chilean lakes are characterized by their low species number due to the marked oligotrophy of these ecosystems. In this scenario, the present study done a null model analysis of size overlap for zooplankton communities in a wide group of ecosystems in Chilean Patagonia (38-53° S) with the aim to determine the presence or absence of energetic resources that regulate the size structure of the communities. The analysis revealed that the size structure is randomly, this because the resources availability is not limited in spite of the oligotrophy of studied sites. In this scenario, it is probable that the species that join the community are specialized if it is considered the availability resources condition.
