The problem of demand and energy consumption control in productive and service companies constitutes an important opportunity for the reduction of the expenses associated to the use of the electric power. The presently work offers a compensation model based on the technique of genetics algorithms that allow to supplement the manual procedure of demand control, usually denominated accommodation of loads, in such a way that minimum energy consumption is obtained in the pick schedule, with maximum demand and a minimum discontinuity of the load graph.

The resulting procedure was implemented using the tools of programming of the MATLAB version 7.8 (R2010a) of the Global Optimization Toolbox.

The effectiveness of the method is demonstrated through its application to a case of real study in the area of services to the production of the Tínima Brewery Company of Camagüey, Cuba.
