The purpose of this work is to review the concept of gender dialogism in Latin American criticism from a genealogic point of view. The way to do this is through the analysis of two female texts: on the one hand, an essay by Kemy Oyarzún (1992); on the other hand, an essay by Victoria Ocampo (1936). The element these two essays have in common is that both belong to a tradition of Latin American feminist criticism, which was stimulated by the emergence of women social movements. In this context, this work proposes two lines of analysis. The first one aims to observe how Oyarzún as well as Ocampo adopt the notion of dialogism as a key concept in their arguments. The hypothesis under this idea maintains that the authors do this in order to be able to install a female difference both in language and in symbolic productions. The second line of analysis wants to explain how Oyarzún as well as Ocampo discuss in their essays with other perspectives in Latin American criticism; in particular, those that concentrate on the construction of theories and methodologies that enable to think Latin American cultural difference vis-à-vis the metropolis
