The current progress of the intercultural paradigm demands consideration of the historical question of relationships between peoples, in terms of both rethinking the question of a sense of national history and exposing an intercultural critique of the hegemonic project of expansion of the western nation state. Within this field, several topics have been put forward by the phenomenological and hermeneutical theory of history. In this article we want to contribute to the reconstruction of the imaginary realm of the independence of republics, and specifically to advocate "a reconstruction of republican history" that repositions other experiences in favour of those that question the homogenizing concept of the nation state deciding "historical truths" or "official" histories in Chile and Argentina. In this sense, when relegating the memories of other communities, towns and ethnic groups - in particular, the Mapuche - it becomes necessary to modify the historiography and denounce the privilege of documents and canonical texts that respond to the point of view of hegemonic cultures. If the agreements of unifying writing do not allow us to gather the memories, languages, and recollections of the people of subsumed regions, a new way to make history intercultural and critical requires other dialogues and discourses to advance towards an authentic intercultural reconstruction of history
