In this paper, we examine four "Latin American Islam" models. First, the configuration of Muslim communities in the Caribbean: the "Indo-Asiatic Islam". Second, the formation, in South American countries, ofan "Arabic Islam". Third, the "new Muslims", through a conversion process to Islam. Finally, the presence of a radical Islamism. We postulate that the diversity that characterizes Islam and Islamism is related also with Latin America, through the conformation of some models that are diverse and antagonist in some cases
