DUHART, Frédéric. La moral y el gusto: El vino en Le mesnagier de Paris (siglo XIV. Universum [online]. 2007, vol.22, n.1, pp. 94-101. ISSN 0718-2376. doi: 10.4067/S0718-23762007000100007.
A member of the Parisian bourgeoisie wrote Le Mesnagier de Paris around 1393. In this book which was written for his young wife, he evoked the good Christian way of life, housekeeping, cooking, etc. His advices were inspired by reading. Therefore, Le Mesnagier is an image of his own personal culture. In the present work, as an anthropologist, I will analyze the role of wine inside the mental universe that this Parisian text reveals. It was considerable. Wine plays a part in moral teachings and it is frequently mentioned in the most technical chapters (practical advices, recipes...). Analyzing these different evocations of wine reveals a complex moral and material relation with this product
