LACOSTE, Pablo. Del tratado de comercio entre Argentina y Chile a la fiesta nacional de la vendimia: política, vino y cultura popular. Universum [online]. 2006, vol.21, n.2, pp. 184-200. ISSN 0718-2376.  http://dx.doi.org/10.4067/S0718-23762006000200012.

The vintage national party in Argentina is one of the most significant popular parties in the world. During three weeks of celebration, 600.000 people mobilize to see the artistic and cultural manifestations. These activities are well known because of the international mass media. Less visible is the socioeconomic net behind the party. This net was built by three actors: the local state, the wine industry entrepreneurship, and the people mobilized in the street around the wine party. The popular mobilization contributed to legitimate the wine bourgeoisie claims behind the federal state to be considered in national politics. This net was born in 1909, during the dealing of a Free Trade Agreement between Argentina and Chile

Palabras clave : Vintage; Bourgeoisie; Wine industry; Popular party; Free Trade Agreement.
