Abstract

ZAMORANO PEREZ, Pedro Emilio; CORTES LOPEZ, Claudio  and  MUNOZ ZARATE, Patricio. Pintura chilena 1920-1960: algunas categorías y periodizaciones. Universum [online]. 2006, vol.21, n.1, pp. 204-227. ISSN 0718-2376.  doi: 10.4067/S0718-23762006000100013.

The artistic local history, gives us information about the national visual arts scene, according to  two |main points: The first one, considers the presence of the most important movements and individual artists; the other, since a chronological perspective, informs us from  the beginning of our artistic manifestations during the Colony Period,  till the most contemporary authors and movements. The chapters and articles that have given origin to this theoretical work, are generated in the connection of those  two variable aspects. The present work analyzes the main axis and concepts of our artistical history and  proposes a new structure of analysis. This new vision inserts in a scene marked by a context of  cultural "appropriations"and by a society that tries to profile its identity. In this manner,  our artistic  history shows a contradictory scene: the local background versus the imposition of certain conceptual arrangements, more characteristic of the european art
