JALIF DE BERTRANOU, Clara Alicia. Tres artículos de Francisco Bilbao aparecidos en el peródico bonaerense El orden. Universum [online]. 2006, vol.21, n.1, pp. 180-189. ISSN 0718-2376.

Francisco Bilbao (Santiago, Chile, 1823- Buenos Aries, 1865), who spent his last exile in Argentina since 1857 until his death, had an intense life as a journalist. He participated in politics with those who supported the Confederation that was led by the general Justo José Urquiza, against the separatists who fought for the separation of Buenos Aries from the rest of the country. Bilbao wrote between March 7th and September 9th 1858, more than two hundred articles for the newspaper El Orden, published in Buenos Aires. The topics dealt with daily problems that were the result of social, political and economic observations. Although the articles are in line with his personal set of ideas, they transcend the moment for which they were written and hold current value under the light of history. Among them, we transcribe three of them that refer to the death penalty, the importance of holding elections and the causes of poverty
