Abstract

BAEZA, Mauricio; BRIONES, Rodrigo  and  HERNANDEZ, Gonzalo. MINIMUM RETENTION WITH CCA SALTS ON RADIATA PINE TIMBER THAT PROTECT THE SUBTERRANEAN TERMITE ATTACK. Maderas, Cienc. tecnol. [online]. 2002, vol.4, n.2, pp. 186-192. ISSN 0718-221X.  doi: 10.4067/S0718-221X2002000200009.

This study evaluate wooden Radiata Pine (Pinus radiata D. Don) stakes, by field and laboratory tests, treated with six different treatments retentions with CCA salts, and expose to the subterranean termite attacks. The procedures chosen for the evaluation come from international standars. The laboratory tests show different effeciency results than the field test to avoid the termite attacks. In the first case, the retencion 4 (kg/m3) give a effective protection to the wood, however the field test required 6 (kg/m3).

Keywords : Radiata pine; CCA salts; Subterranean termites.
